Just how do they relate?? I’m currently reading a book of fiction that takes place in the beginning of WW II. The heroine is a single mother and photojournalist for Life magazine charged with taking pictures and writing a story about the race at the Rockefeller Institute in New York City to find a cure that will save thousands of wounded American troops and many others – a miraculous new drug called penicillin.

Underreported Epidemic

The Journal of the American Geriatric Society (August, 2009) included an article titled, "Underreported Epidemic of Low Mobility during Hospitalization of Older Adults." This study confirmed what my colleague Sharon Lucich MS, PT and I have long observed...without specific and intentional programs by caregivers to increase the mobility of elders who spend time in acute care hospitals inertia tends to rule the day.
