EHOB Newsletter
As we find ourselves firmly in the grip of a beautiful fall (and bracing ourselves for a winter that no one is ready for yet!), this month we bring you articles featuring a study done on various methods of preventing pressure ulcers and their associated costs featuring our WAFFLE® products, the significant impact static air products have on the lives of those struggling with MS, and the important art of changing a wound dressing.

Last, but far from least: we had such fun showing off our EHOB kids in their Halloween costumes last year that we thought we’d share some photos of these cuties again. We love our EHOB family!

My hat is off to them !! In a local TV interview it was reported that 6 years ago when the annual ride first started there were no new treatments for multiple sclerosis, but now there are eleven ! Due in part to the money and awareness raised by the rides.

THE ART OF CHANGING A DRESSING: THE ULTIMATE NURSING RESPONSIBILITY
Changing a Dressing
October 12, 2014
Fran Demo, BSN, RN, CWON

Today I thought I would write about a nursing responsibility that is near and dear to my heart – dressing changes. Since the advent of advanced wound dressings (hydrocolloids, alginates, hydrogels, foams, etc.), education has focused around choosing the “best product”, a daunting task for the most skilled wound care clinician. It is a lot to expect of the frontline clinician. Frontline clinicians should be experts at changing and managing dressings to maintain a clean, moist, wound healing environment.
