EHOB Newsletter
This month, in addition to offering the always-insightful writings of our amazing nursing staff (including thoughts from China, the incredible versatility of the WAFFLE® Overlay, and the prevention of shear and pressure damage in prone positioning situations), we are excited to tell you about a new company that is doing something truly wonderful in the world of elder care, and how we decided to pitch in.

Happy reading,

I recently returned from an extremely interesting visit to China, lecturing via an interpreter to audiences of Nurses, Doctors, purchasing departments and hospital administration on the Prevention of Pressure Ulcers and Wound Care and Treatment.

Teaching wound care and presenting lectures over several years now, what impressed me in China was the attentive and very polite audiences that I met along the way.

I thought it might be helpful to share some information about one of the coming trends in health care in the United States. As nurses and other health care providers if we know what is coming we can help meet new goals and benefit from new job opportunities that may present themselves. SENIOR CARE BOX
Senior Care Box
Senior Care Box is a new local start-up company with a great idea: sending regular care packages to elderly family and friends. Distance and busy schedules often make keeping in touch with older grandparents, great aunts and uncles or neighbors difficult, which is where Senior Care Box (“SCB”) comes in. Each month, the recipient is sent a box with treats and activities that members of the Greatest Generation are sure to love. In addition, a photograph representing a bygone era, from the 1920s to the 1960s, is enclosed as a memory trigger. Recipients are invited to share memories related to the photo; those memories can then be shared on the SCB Community forum or in future packages.

We think this is such a fantastic idea that we wanted to get in on the action. So in September, an EHOB gift card will be included in that month’s box. If you’d like to send a Senior Care Box to a loved one, sign up by August 25 to have them receive the September box with our gift card. You can sign up to send boxes for three, six or twelve months. Find out more at their website. We think you’ll be as impressed with this wonderful company as we are!
