EHOB, Inc. Becomes Provider of M.A.Pô by Wellsense

EHOB, a leading provider of affordable products effective in the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers, announces today a distribution agreement with Wellsense. EHOB now serves as a provider of the company’s M.A.P™ Continuous Bedside Pressure Mapping System (CBPM).

“We are excited to enter into this strategic partnership with EHOB, allowing us to further advance our footprint within the U.S.,” said Kevin Head, vice president of sales for Wellsense. “This important milestone will expand the awareness and availability of the M.A.P System through EHOB’s experienced sales, marketing and clinical teams while adding another great technology into their already strong pressure ulcer prevention portfolio. EHOB is a proven leader in this space, and we look forwarding to working with them to further serve the patients that deserve the best technologies available for pressure ulcer prevention.”

Serving as the healthcare industry’s first-ever CBPM, M.A.P can be used seamlessly on any support surface and allows caregivers to monitor and position patients using real time pressure distribution data. Included in the system are the Pressure Sensing Mat (PSM) and Monitor. The system’s instant feedback guides caregivers through effective repositioning interventions and its optional alert allows caregivers to improve adherence to turning protocols.

“This innovative system provides instant insight that is effective in the prevention of pressure ulcers,” said Scott Rogers, president and COO of EHOB. “Coupling the system with our WAFFLE® support surfaces will undoubtedly assist facilities in reducing the likelihood of pressure ulcer incidence.”

Wellsense develops advanced sensor technology to create a flexible and affordable “intelligent textile” that visualizes real-time interface pressure readings. When supported by sophisticated data analytics capabilities, caregivers can see a real-time visual “map” of pressure distribution and use that information to offload or redistribute pressure under a patient or resident. The Wellsense technology offers a comprehensive and intuitive method for caregivers to enhance patient safety and dramatically reduce the likelihood of facility-acquired pressure ulcers.

EHOB offers a number of products for pressure ulcer prevention and treatment, including mattress overlays, seating cushions, day chair pads, lower-limb protectors, positioning aids and more. Over 2,200 hospitals, nursing homes and home caregivers rely on EHOB’s support surfaces. M.A.P by Wellsense is available for purchase through EHOB’s existing sales distribution channel into hospitals and on the company’s website at http://www.ehob.com
