Pressure and Shear Relating to Deep Tissue Injury

This presentation offers an overview of the pathophysiology and mechanical forces that effect pressure ulcer formation. Various types of support surface media and their effects on soft tissue are addressed, featuring our unique CT scan analysis. Visualization of the tissue trapped between the skeletal press and the support surface helps to understand how a deep tissue injury occurs.
