Caring for the Bariatric Patient

This presentation offers a review of bariatric pathophysiology and the subsequent physiology for deep tissue wound development. There will be brief review of federal government guidelines that define obesity, and the role of specialized support surfaces in bariatric patient care. The presenters will discuss techniques and re-positioning challenges for the bariatric patient, and identifying best practice guidelines for both patient and caregiver safety.
